Classes

Our classes focus on the authentic Lindy Hop style of the 1930s delivered in a fun and friendly environment. We’ve taught people who have never danced before through to professional dancers of other styles so we understand that everyone learns at a different rate and our classes are designed to help you move along at whatever pace you feel comfortable.
You Don’t Need A Partner. We rotate partners during the class so you’re quite welcome even if those friends that promised to come down with you chicken out at the last moment.
We currently offer classes in Victoria Park, Innaloo and Fremantle
So, there are 3 main formats for classes depending on your level and what you’d like to achieve. Here’s the low down…..
Beginners Courses
Excitement for Lindy Hop starts from the first moment you see dancers burning up the dance floor. We’ll get you dancing like that by the first lesson by doing fun easy routines that are different in every course. The courses are run in 4 week blocks, with each lesson building on what was learnt before.
Not sure if you can make 4 weeks in a row? Not a problem just let us know at the start and we’ll work something out for you.
You can get some more info on the beginners courses here
Cost: $60 for 4 weeks or $20 if you just want to try the first one
Intermediate Drop In
Have you mastered the Beginner’s courses? Are you hooked on Lindy and want to learn more? Then try out intermediates where the moves are more challenging and varied. We’ll teach you some of the classic moves of the era, some jazz steps and fancy variations. We’ll also begin to dip into the technique behind the magic of Lindy with a focus on going to events and dancing socially. Occasionally we run special classes like the Shim Sham, Charleston Stroll, pops (basic air steps) or even dances like the 1920s Partner Charleston and Balboa.
To begin intermediates you must have done both the 8-beat and 6-beat beginners course. You can drop-in any time as intermediates don’t run in courses, but they are loosely blocked into 4-weeks and each block begins easy and gets harder. So if you want the maximum benefit of intermediates try to get there 4 weeks in a row.
Intermediates are always welcome to keep doing the beginners course for free and we highly encourage you to do so. Classes can be paid for each week or you can buy a class card that is valid at any of our venues.
Drop in cost: $15 per class
Class card: $60 for 5 classes
Private Lessons
These are great for anyone that’s either not too confident about dancing with a group, wanting to improve fast or need to learn to dance for a specific occasion like a wedding.
You can book a private with any of our regular teachers when they are available. For more information on private lessons have a look here
